Today’s vote is about approving the suggested stronger language to AB 2700
Bill Text - The bill has no focuses solely on PG&E Fire Victim Restitution but in-line with the Assembly Appropriations Committee analysis our goal as it goes into Assembly U&E is as follows:
"(1) ensure there is a path to full restitution for Pacific Gas and Electric fire victims,
(2) sets a foundation and precedent for ensuring equitable restitution for all fire victims and
(3) establishes a framework within existing CPUC processes and those established through the California Wildfire Fund to reduce costs for administration and streamline victim restitution processes.”
Floor Vote Order - AB2700 is file item 391 (197th on agenda) so could be voted upon around 7pm tonight. However, if the Assembly doesn’t make it that far the bill will be pushed for a vote tomorrow.
We expect this to now be a bipartisan bill with Republicans and Democrats joining on as co-authors.
Assemblymember Boerner and Assemblymember Rogers are the latest to agree to be co-authors of the bill.
Sorry about the confusion
