We Did it TOGETHER!

We did it TOGETHER!!! Congratulations Wildfire Survivor Advocates! AB 2700 PASSED on the Assembly Floor 70-0!!!! This is an amazing result and sets us up to strengthen the bill as it drives through the Senate. We will provide more updates but I just wanted to express my sincere heartfelt thanks to Assemblyman James Gallagher for leading this effort. He stepped up in a HUGE way to support wildfire survivors and our communities across California. Also, thank you to the co-authors that joined including Assemblymember Heather Hadwick, Assemblymember Chris Rogers and the amazing group of Organizing Advocates of the Utility Wildfire Survivor Coalition that have been doing so much strong work to support ALL wildfire survivors. So many leaders stepped up to support this and too many to list here including Mayor Steve Crowder. However, I know that this could not have gotten this far without the strong advocacy of wildfire survivors from across California. I am so proud of how everyone pulled together around this important effort for JUSTICE!

We have lots of work to do to strengthen this bill and get it signed into law. Stay tuned for MORE Updates. However, it is important to reflect and appreciate this HUGE milestone! Everyone should be so proud. This is what happens when people rise up and stand together to fight for justice! We can only do this TOGETHER!!!!
